Amey wins Institute for Collaborative Working award in conjunction with Defence Infrastructure Organisation

We are delighted that the Institute for Collaborative Working (ICW) has recognised the success of Amey’s relationship with the Defence Infrastructure Organisation (DIO) and selected us as winners of the public/private sector category at its 2019 annual awards ceremony held on Friday 12th December.

The prestigious event, hosted at the House of Lords, Westminster, was attended by representatives from Amey along with a number of other Industry Partners, all shortlisted for their successful collaborative partnerships with Government agencies.  

Despite the strong competition, Amey were chosen as winners for demonstrating a deep understanding of ISO 440001 Collaborative Working standard and more specifically, by providing compelling evidence of how our approach to jointly sharing resource, experience and skills has enabled us to provide a more effective and efficient service to our Armed Forces community.

The submission was praised for its honesty by not just focusing on the successes of the joint working initiatives over the last five years but by also identifying some of the challenges that have been overcome, and those that still lie ahead. Amey provided persuasive examples of the benefits that have been achieved by effective collaborative partnership set against a backdrop of consistent organisational change and uncertainty in both organisations.

Formal collaborative working is a 21st century phenomenon but working together is far from a new concept. We hope to use this award as a springboard to further cultural and behavioural change over the coming years that can transform approaches to business so that we and our partners can progress and improve together.”
