Director of Army Basing and Infrastructure, Major General David Southall CBE, visits Amey’s Customer Service Centre

The recently appointed Director of Army Basing and Infrastructure, Major General David Southall CBE, took some time out of his busy schedule earlier this month to visit Amey teams at our Customer Service Centre.

Major General Southall was hosted by Tim Redfern, Amey’s Director of Defence, and accompanied by Colonel Andy Szabo, Assistant Chief of Staff Infrastructure, Regional Command, and Colonel Stuart Browse, DIO Accommodation, and two additional members of his staff, all of whom were keen to learn more about support we provide to our military customers.

The visit began with an overview of the business followed by a tour of the Customer Service Centre where our visitors were able to see the operational nerve centre of the Amey Regional Prime contracts and the National Housing Prime contract to gain a more detailed understanding of how Amey operates.

This was followed by the opportunity for Major General Southall to meet members of our teams and to listen into live calls from our customers. He also presented awards to several of our employees who had been nominated for exceptional performance by their peers.

Tim Redfern said “We were very pleased to host the recent visit by Major General Southall and his colleagues at our Customer Service Centre. Visits like these allow us to provide an insight into how we manage the many, varied challenges across our contracts and also recognises the commitment and professionalism of our customer service team who support our customers on a daily basis.”

Major General Southall added “The visit was hugely beneficial for me and the staff; it was extremely informative and enlightening for us all. Please do pass on my thanks to all in your team – I am very grateful for their time and engagement.”
