Amey’s Housing Defence teams recently took advantage of their volunteering day to take part in a local project to refresh the interior of a welfare house at RAF Cosford.
The Welfare house is one of four, fully furnished properties at the site which allows Service personnel to have contact with their friends and family, which is particularly beneficial during deployments, hospital admissions and graduations.
With paint and materials bought by the RAF Contact House funds, our team spent the day painting all the interior skirting boards ready for the next team of volunteers to tackle the garden once the nicer weather arrives.
Cpl Gina Williams, Community Support JNCO, said “RAF Cosford’s welfare houses support hundreds of personnel and families each year. The houses bring families together who often live hundreds of miles from their Serving family members and we’re really grateful to Amey for giving up their time to give one of them a much needed face-lift.”
