Amey Defence teams in Scotland volunteer to improve local school’s outside space

Amey teams in our Defence contract recently used their Amey volunteering day to give the garden of Leuchars Primary School in Scotland a much needed facelift.

Our teams turned up bright and early to repair the plastic on the poly-tunnel and while they were there they also built two potting tables (one at height for the children and one for the adults) and even made a new door. They then went on to clear the area of weeds and even managed to put a coat of wood stain on all the woodwork - transforming the area from an overgrown patch of grass to a safe and stimulating place for the children to be. Our supply chain partners, Tivoli Ltd, lent their support by providing the team with a range of gardening tools which definitely made the job a little easier!

Along with the Head Teacher, some of the children from the school gardening club came out to see the work being completed and they were very excited at the prospect of being able to use it and thanked Amey for the wonderful job they had done to restore the tunnel.
